The eMajor degrees are offered fully online through SACSCOC-accredited institutions of the University System of Georgia (USG). In addition to attracting traditional students who wish to take advantage of online courses, the eMajor degrees also are ideal for working professionals, military members, and transfer students.
This textbook was created through an initiative by the USG Board of Regents who requested that eMajor students have access to open-source textbooks. Open-source textbooks have an open copyright license and are available freely. As such, anyone will have the right to access, download, revise, or customize the content. Due to the malleable nature of this work, the writers are not listed as "authors" but rather "faculty facilitators."
You may remember Dr. Northam from our Summer 2022 Newsletter, where we proudly announced his receipt of 91ÁÔÆæ's 2022 Teaching Excellence Award for Non-Tenure- Track Faculty. Dr. Northam received his M.A. in Government from Claremont Graduate University in 1975, a M.S. in Psychology from the University of Phoenix in 2010, and a doctorate in Public Administration from Valdosta State University in 2013. He teaches in both our undergraduate and Masters of Public Administration (MPA) programs. In addition to his academic qualifications, Dr. Northam also acquired 24 years of business experience working for Hewlett-Packard.
