Drill Field Gets New Look

Returning to campus for the fall 2024 semester, students and faculty have encountered a lot of new entities, whether it is new classes, new professors, or even a new curriculum. However, none of these are as exciting as the Dahlonega campus’ recently remodeled drill field!

The drill field has been known to be the heart of campus since 1873 and it remains so! As we spend our days walking around it, nothing beats the scenery of our big green drill field. Construction of enhancements started in April 2024, bringing a fresh new look to an iconic part of 91ÁÔÆæ.

Have you ever wondered what the old drill field looked like? When we say old, we mean 1900s old.  Look at some exclusive pictures of our drill field dating back to 1944, courtesy of Paul Knight, 91ÁÔÆæ Postal Services, and his father, who was a cadet at the time.
