Hiring Students

  1. The Hiring Manager should reach out to their Talent Acquisition Consultant to initiate the process. The Hiring Manager will need to provide the job description (Institutional & Graduate Assistant) or request a position through Financial Aid (Federal Work Study).
  2. The Talent Acquisition Consultant will collect the necessary information to start the hiring process.
    • Graduate Assistant job openings will go through an approval process. The approvers will have a pending notification in recruiting self-service once the job opening gets to them for approvals.

  1. The Hiring Manager may review applications and begin the interview process while the position is posted. However, all qualified student applicants must be considered. The Hiring Manager will be responsible for moving student applicants through the interview process, including dispositioning them in the system.

  1. Once you have selected a final candidate(s), you will need to submit the following information via email to your Talent Acquisition Consultant.
    • Job Title and Job Opening ID #
    • Applicant’s Name
    • Desired Start Date
    • End Date (If Applicable)
    • Desired Salary
    • Budget Account String
    • Budget Amount
    • Campus Location
    • Position of Trust (Yes or No)

Note: You cannot make a verbal offer until you have received approval from HR.

  1. The approvers will have a pending notification in recruiting self-service once the job offer gets to them.

  1. The offer letter will be sent to the candidate once the job offer approval is completed.
  2. The hiring manager will be notified when the candidate has accepted the offer.
