Completion of the is necessary prior to travel. One of the signatory approvals for international travel is the Center for Global Engagement so that the AVP can review travel advisories for the travel destination.

Level Three Advisory Due to Crime, Terrorism or Civil Unrest
The AVP will inform the traveler, Department Head and Dean of the travel advisory level, and will ask for detailed information about the purpose and logistics of the trip so that the Provost has sufficient information to make a decision. The traveler will also need to sign off on a Waiver of Liability (PDF). The waiver plus any documentation regarding the vetting need to be attached to the form for the final approval from the Provost.Level Four Advisory Due to Crime, Terrorism or Civil Unrest
The traveler will be advised not to travel if there is a Level Four advisory in place for crime, terrorism, or civil unrest.

- Review their health insurance plan to understand the overseas coverage and ensure the coverage includes medical evacuation and repatriation of remains.
