Visual Arts (B.F.A.)
The Bachelor of Fine Arts with a major in visual arts is a professional degree with 69 credit hours in upper level studio and art courses. You will select one area of focus from the following: Digital Arts, Drawing & Painting, Graphic Design, Photography, Printmaking & Paper Arts, and Sculpture & Ceramics.
Advanced courses will enable you to develop high proficiency in a focus area. You will culminate your degree with a Senior Capstone Exhibition. This degree prepares you for graduate school admission or for positions within a creative industry that demands advanced artistic expertise.
The Visual Arts (B.F.A.) accepts qualified students and requires a special application evaluated by the Department of Visual Arts
Since the Visual Arts (B.F.A.) requires coursework in a highly concentrated area of focus, neither minors nor elective courses outside the Department of Visual Arts are available to Visual Arts (B.F.A.) students.

About the Senior Capstone Exhibition
The Senior Capstone Exhibition is a semester-long exhibition project developed by students in the Visual Arts (B.F.A.) program, with guidance from a focus area academic advisor. You will create a proposal that showcases your expertise, and realize the project through your last semester.
This process culminates with the installation of an individual exhibition and the production of a portfolio, preparing you for professional employment or graduate school
