Art Education (B.S.)
The Bachelor of Science with a major in art education prepares you to teach art in the Georgia School System. You will be prepared for the initial teaching certificate to teach pre-school through twelfth grade. This program is a collaboration between the Department of Visual Arts and the College of Education.
Gain the skills of adept critical thinkers and communicators who have developed skills in understanding complexity, diverse global perspectives, and multiple, often conflicting points of views. Combine the skill set of artists with an educator’s ability to effectively distill and teach the skills as well as content. With our program, you will enter the classroom with a strong foundation in both art and education content, as well as the first-hand experience of teaching from your practicums and internship..
This degree is offered in conjunction with the College of Education Middle Grades, Secondary & Science department and subject to their requirements.
