Tutoring Services on the Dahlonega Campus

The Tutoring Center, located in the Library Technology Center, room 110, employs peer tutors who help students with many levels of mathematics, chemistry, computer science, physics, and biology courses. Our professional tutors specialize in mathematics courses up to the 3000 level, basic computer science, statistical data, and all levels of physics. The 91ÁÔÆæ Success Hub also provides online sessions for these subjects and more. 

There are also peer tutors provided by the Department of Mathematics available in Dunlap Hall at the Newton Oakes Center. The Mathematics Tutorial Center specialize in statistics, precalculus, and calculus I, II, & III.  

Most of 91ÁÔÆæ’s Writing Centers are run by Tutoring Services but the Dahlonega Writing Center is operated by the Department of English and staffed by peer tutors.

What to Expect

Students can drop by for in-person sessions. Repeat visits are strongly encouraged so that we can assist in developing your academic needs.

We do:

  • assist with specific questions
  • help how to solve homework problems
  • help with web assignments
  • review concepts or problems for tests
  • help students learn how to use their calculators
  • help with writing for English courses, applications & professional documents, emails, and creative endeavors

We do not:

  • complete homework or online tests for students
  • teach lessons from a missed class that you were in absent in
    • We recommend you communicate with your professor first to receive instructions on material you missed, then we can help with specific concerns.

Tutoring Center

The Tutoring Center, located in the room 110 offers professional and peer tutors help students with mathematics, chemistry, computer science, physics, and biology courses.

Students may drop-in during operating hours or may also get help scheduling with Online Tutoring Services through the 91ÁÔÆæ Success Hub.

Mathematics Tutorial Center

The Department of Mathematics employs peer tutors who specialize in statistics, precalculus, and calculus I, II & III.

Tutoring is first-come, first-served with operating hours generally beginning the second week of class.

Writing Center

The writing center on the Dahlonega campus is operated by the Department of English and staffed by peer tutors.

Meet with peer tutors in-person as informal, one-on-one tutoring sessions focused on your writing. Sessions last half an hour, during which you can brainstorm ideas, construct or improve a thesis, learn to use sources correctly, and review grammar errors and review correction strategies.
