Eligibility and How to Apply

Am I Eligible?

To be eligible to apply, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Have at least a GPA of 2.75 or higher.
  • Be a student in good academic standing, that has been accepted to, or enrolled at, the University of North Georgia at the time of application. This includes:
    • New Freshman students from all 91ÁÔÆæ campuses
    • Dual & joint enrollment students from all 91ÁÔÆæ campuses
    • Transient students (You are enrolled in another college or university and seek temporary admission to 91ÁÔÆæ)
    • Transfer students (permanently transferring to 91ÁÔÆæ)
    • Non-tradition adult learners
    • Post graduate students

Dates & Deadlines

Application Opens: 
October 16, 2023

Early Application Due:
March 15, 2024

Application Due:
April 19, 2024

Summer 2024 SLI Dates:
June 8 - July 26, 2024

That depends on your student status. Check the appropriate section to see what you need to do.

Ready to Apply?

If you've completed all the required steps above according to your student status, (current ROTC Cadets - apply through the ), you are ready to apply.

Here's what you will need when applying:

  • Applicant personal and academic information
  • Academic Transcript (official or unofficial)
  • Two (2) essays (less than 500 words each)

Once your application is completed (including the items above), mark the box at the bottom of the application as "Complete, Ready for Review."

Hit the Apply Now button and enter your 91ÁÔÆæ username and password in the box that appears to access the application portal.

Please note: The application is not mobile-friendly.

What if I Cannot Access the Application?

Newly Accepted Student? Make sure you've completed the necessary steps (See "Newly Accepted Student" section.)

Student Commitment

  • Cannot be registered for any other courses.
  • May not be employed.
  • Must not have any other major time commitments outside of SLI for the extent of the program.
  • Must live in Residence Hall for the duration of program.
