Is there a book you want that isn’t available from the University of North Georgia Libraries? You still may be able to get it.

From the GIL-Find catalog, click on the Advanced Search. Then sign in by clicking on 91ÁÔÆæ Students, Faculty, and Staff and entering your 91ÁÔÆæ username and password. These are the same ones you use to access your university email. When you are signed in you will see your name in the upper right hand corner of the page.

Next, enter your search terms and change the search from 91ÁÔÆæ to the University System of Georgia. In the search results list, if the item you want is not available on your home campus then, if possible, choose another 91ÁÔÆæ campus. If not, select the orange link, “Check availability from other USG libraries.” If an item is available at more than one Library click on Show Libraries. Then choose an institution that states available in green text.

Then wait for “Request” to appear next to Request options. Be patient, it take a few moments. Select the site for pickup from the pull down menu. Click on the word REQUEST in capital letters to complete the transaction. For future reference, be sure to remember the name of the lending institution.

Once the request is submitted you will see “Request placed. Requests ahead of you: 0” as long as no one else has requested the item.

When the item arrives via GIL Express you will receive a notification in your 91ÁÔÆæ email account.

Bring your Nighthawks ID card or some form of government issued photo ID to the Information Desk and let the person there know you have an item on the Hold Shelf.

Requested items usually take 3-5 business days to arrive. Please note, most USG libraries will not lend items from their Reference, Reserve, DVD, or eBook collections.

To learn more about borrowing resources from non-USG libraries, go to the 91ÁÔÆæ Libraries’ homepage. On the left side of the page move your cursor over Research Help. Then select Borrowing from Other Libraries.
