The exercise science concentration area is not an open option for a degree (i.e., acceptance by 91ÁÔÆæ as well as program application and approved admission are both required). Students wishing to enter the program must submit a complete application for admission to the Kinesiology Exercise Science program.
Online applications are accepted twice a year: January and September.
Application Process
All students entering into the exercise science concentration area must be accepted by 91ÁÔÆæ and accepted to the Kinesiology Exercise Science program before beginning any professionally based coursework. A completed application must be submitted typically during the sophomore year and approved prior to admission to the exercise science concentration area. Admission is required prior to enrollment in the following upper division classes: KINS 3101, KINS 3200, KINS 3350, KINS 3380, KINS 3380L, KINS 4420, KINS 4380, KINS 4435, KINS 4471, KINS 4480, and KINS 4490.

Applications are accepted January 1-15 for students to start Exercise Science coursework the following fall semester. Applications are accepted September 1-15 for students to start Exercise Science coursework the following spring semester. (No early or late applications will be accepted).
Admission Requirements
To be eligible for admission to the Exercise Science concentration area within the Department of Kinesiology, a student must be accepted as a student by the University of North Georgia and meet the following minimum requirements:
- Complete 35 semester hours of earned credit and have an overall grade point average of 2.75 or higher at the time of application. Any applications with an overall GPA below a 2.75 will not be considered.
- Complete all courses in Area A, BIOL 2251K, BIOL 2252K, and KINS 2100 with grades of “C” or higher. If BIOL 2252K and/or KINS 2100 are in-process during semester of application, a final grade of “C” or higher must be earned by the end of that semester to remain eligible for admission consideration.
- Interviews may be conducted by the Exercise Science Admission Committee.
