Chemistry Major with a Chemical Physics Concentration (B.S.)

The Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry offers three American Chemical Society (ACS) certified degrees. The Bachelor of Science degree with a major in chemistry and a concentration in chemical physics is designed for students who have a strong interest in fundamental science, especially chemistry and physics, and have an aptitude for mathematics. In addition to rigorous classroom preparation, students pursuing this degree receive extensive lab experience including hands-on operation of numerous instruments.

The curriculum is centered on the five traditional chemistry sub-disciplines:

analytical chemistry, organic chemistry, physical chemistry, inorganic chemistry and biochemistry

Students also receive significant additional instruction in advanced physical chemistry, physics, and mathematics to complete their curriculum.
