Pre-Respiratory Therapy Biology Student

Pre-Respiratory Therapy students commonly major in biology but may choose any major they wish. Pre-Respiratory Therapy is an academic advisement area. We offer focused advisement by professors who advise other Pre-Respiratory Therapy students.

In addition to the core requirements for a 91ÁÔÆæ biology degree of (42) hours, students take an additional (18) hours that include:

  • Anatomy and Physiology I and II w/labs - 8 hours
  • Microbiology- 4 hours
  • Electives from Biology and Chemistry - 6 hours

After acceptance in an accredited Respiratory Therapy Program, students have two years of concentration in respiratory therapy coursework. Following graduation students are eligible to take a national examination that leads to the credential Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT).
