Caroline Beach

The 2022-23 academic year brings academic and leadership opportunities for Caroline Beach, a junior on the University of North Georgia's Dahlonega Campus.

While continuing to pursue a degree in political science, the Colbert, Georgia native will be the Dahlonega Student Government Association (SGA) vice president.

Beach defines leadership as the ability to take initiative to get a common goal completed.

"There are a multitude of skills that go into making a strong leader. One of the biggest qualities a leader has is the ability to grow and adapt to their team as well as accept feedback from others" Beach said. "The second skill a leader needs is the ability to develop other leaders. I portray this skill by encouraging students to join SGA."

Her various leadership roles include the president the National Society of Leadership and Success (NSLS) for the 2022-23 academic year. For the 2021-22 academic year, she served as vice president of NSLS, and was a founding member of establishing a chapter at 91ÁÔÆæ. She has been an Oconee Campus Senator and Dahlonega Elections Chair for the 2021-22 academic year.

She is also involved in Omicron Delta Kappa, an academic honor society.

My style of leadership is participative where I strongly encourage all members of the group to speak up for themselves, especially if they have ideas on how to better get the task completed. I strive to make sure everyone is heard and acknowledged," Beach said. "I think as a leader, it is highly important to include everyone in the decision-making processes as the decision impacts them just as much as it impacts me."
