Leadership Certificate Program
The leadership certificate is a non-credit, co-curricular based program created to develop student’s leadership skills outside of their classroom setting.
This program allows students to build their own intentional pathway through the program to facilitate their commitment to their personal leadership development.
The deadline to apply for the 2023-2024 cohort has passed. Details for the 2024-2025 cohort will be updated here when they are available.
As the state designated leadership institution, it is our mission to develop our students into leaders far beyond their collegiate career. Students pursuing the Leadership Certificate Program will gain certification for many of the leadership experiences that they participate in already as students at 91ÁÔÆæ and receive supplemental opportunities to truly make meaning of those experiences to articulate in graduate school applications, internship interviews, and future employment interviews.
In a world where most candidates will now have a college degree, set yourself a part with a Leadership Certificate.
Students who complete their Leadership Certificate will be able to:
- Understand their leadership abilities through exploring topics of self-awareness, teamwork/collaboration, diversity and inclusion, communication, and citizenship.
- Articulate their own personal leadership philosophy.
- Discuss how their leadership has evolved through participation in the program.
In order to complete the Leadership Certificate Program, students must:
- Attend three required events:
- Leadership Certificate Program Orientation
- Defining Leadership Workshop
- Philosophy Workshop
- Attend/Participate in at least four of the following approved experiences of their choice:
- A monthly, Leadership Lunch offered by the Office of Student Involvement
- The Student Conference on Leadership (Saturday, February 3, 2024; Students must register for this event on 91ÁÔÆæ Connect; this experience counts as two of the four approved experiences)
