Associate professor serves as keynote speaker

91ÁÔÆæ faculty member Dr. Siew Chan served as the keynote speaker for an international conference with more than 100 attendees.

Dr. Siew Chan, a University of North Georgia (91ÁÔÆæ) associate professor of accounting, served as the keynote speaker during the 14th International Conference on Business and Economics Research (ICBER).  

The conference was held at Beijing University of Technology in Beijing, China, and had over 100 attendees, including a few dozen tuning in virtually.  

"I was honored to receive the invitation and excited to participate in the conference as a keynote speaker," Chan said. "I discussed the important implications of artificial intelligence and technology for managerial judgment and decision-making in class, and I spent a considerable amount of time and effort to prepare the content for my keynote speech." 

The conference organizer who personally reached out to Chan for this opportunity. The conference organizers have already voiced interest in having her speak again next year. 

This was Chan's third speaking engagement as she spoke at the Accounting Research Conference in Bangkok, Thailand, in 2015 and the 4th International Conference on the Role of Innovation Entrepreneurship and Management for Sustainable Development in 2023.  

Chan also serves as the editor-in-chief of the International Journal of Services and Standards.
