President continues Listening Tour

University of North Georgia (91ÁÔÆæ) President Michael Shannon will continue his Listening Tour as the fall 2023 semester begins.
He will visit each of 91ÁÔÆæ's five campuses for meetings with students, faculty, staff, community members, and alumni in the first two weeks of the 2023-24 academic year to learn more about 91ÁÔÆæ and the university's priorities.
The focused sessions for students, faculty and staff are open to 91ÁÔÆæ community members and no registration is required. Alumni and community members will be invited to additional sessions scheduled for those stakeholder groups.

Shannon, a retired U.S. Army officer, became president of 91ÁÔÆæ on July 1, after serving as interim executive vice president for administration and finance and interim chief business officer at Georgia Tech. Prior to his interim role, Shannon served as Georgia Tech's vice president and deputy chief business officer.
A native of New Jersey, Shannon is a first-generation college graduate and was commissioned through Army ROTC. He holds a bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering and a master's degree in aeronautical science from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Florida. He also holds a master's degree in health physics and a Ph.D. in nuclear and radiological engineering from Georgia Tech.
