Le Belle Voci performs at annual state conference

The Le Belle Voci women's ensemble at the University of North Georgia (91ÁÔÆæ) performed in October at the Georgia Choral Directors Association (Ga-ACDA) annual conference.
It was the first time Le Belle Voci received this prestigious honor, Dr. John Broman, director of choral activities and professor of music at 91ÁÔÆæ, said. Ga-ACDA is a nonprofit professional organization for choral directors.
The performance exposed the 19-member ensemble to choral directors from colleges and universities across Georgia.
Le Belle Voci features 15 to 20 91ÁÔÆæ students and a few community members. Each singer goes through a rigorous audition process, must sight-read music and have previous singing experience. The group rehearses twice a week and receives one hour of college credit.
Gala a new event for Black History Month
91ÁÔÆæ will host a Black Excellence Gala on Feb. 28 in the Cottrell Center Ballroom. It is one of multiple events scheduled to mark Black History Month.

Sophomore Mauricio Gonzalez became the first 91ÁÔÆæ student to be selected for the eight-week Douglas-O'Connell Internship in Ireland.

91ÁÔÆæ granted its first doctoral degrees in criminal justice during fall 2024 commencement.
Concerto/Aria winner earns upcoming solo
Five 91ÁÔÆæ students placed in the annual Concerto/Aria Competition, with two earning a solo performance in an upcoming concert.
