University of North Georgia (91ÁÔÆæ) senior Kondwani Kapembwa has been named a Bank of New York Mellon Enactus Student Fellow for the 2018-19 school year.

As part of the program, she will receive training about financial skills in a free market economy, project management and entrepreneurial thinking. She said she is excited to learn more about project management.

Kapembwa is part of 91ÁÔÆæ's Enactus group, which is "a community of student, academic and business leaders committed to using the power of entrepreneurial action to transform lives and shape a better, more sustainable world." Originally from Zambia, the finance major came to the United States in 2006 and lived in Atlanta before enrolling at 91ÁÔÆæ.

Kapembwa has traveled to Belize to work on an Enactus service project and was one of the speakers on the presentation team at the Enactus USA national competition. She will be recognized at the 2019 Enactus national event in Kansas City.

"This is a really great opportunity for Kondwani," said Katie Simmons, associate dean of students and undergraduate programs in the Mike Cottrell College of Business. "And it is great for us as it raises the profile of the Mike Cottrell College of Business with many major corporations who are Enactus partner companies."
