For the second time in school history, the University of North Georgia's (91ÁÔÆæ) will play in the postseason NCAA Southeast Regional Tournament.

The NCAA placed 91ÁÔÆæ as the sixth seed in the tournament bracket, which was released Monday, April 23.

The No. 24 Nighthawks will take on third-seeded and No. 25 Georgia College and State University in the opening round of the tournament, which begins Saturday, April 28, at Wingate University in Wingate, North Carolina.

This will mark the third time the Nighthawks and Bobcats will battle this season. The 91ÁÔÆæ women lost to Georgia College, 5-4, in the semifinal match during the Peach Belt Conference Tournament earlier in April.

The winner of Saturday's game will take on the winner between second-seeded Wingate Bulldogs and seventh-seeded Chowan University.

On the other side of the Southeast Region bracket, top-seeded Columbus State University earned a bye and will take on the winner between No. 4 Queens and No. 5 Tusculum.

With its 14-7 season, 91ÁÔÆæ is the one of three Peach Belt Conference (PBC) women's tennis teams included in the 2018 NCAA Division II Women's Tennis tournament field. The other PBC schools are Columbus State and Georgia College.

Winners from both regional sites will advance to the NCAA national finals May 8-11 in Surprise, Arizona.
