Dr. Kelly McFaden, associate professor of teacher education at the University of North Georgia (91ÁÔÆæ), has been named to the University System of Georgia's (USG) Faculty Council for Comprehensive Administrative Review.
The Comprehensive Administrative Review is a system-wide initiative geared toward improving administration and the use of organizational resources.
The committee includes a specially appointed panel of representatives from USG institutions charged with reviewing non-faculty administrative functions from across the system.
The panel was brought together in order to analyze and meet the demands of the environment of today's higher education. Simple topics such as enrolling in a university have changed dramatically. As a result of examination and discussion, the panel will be able to better understand the challenges that today's universities face as well as how to satisfy them.
"I'm look forward to working with the other committee members and doing my best to represent the faculty perspective in this review process," McFaden said.
The program begins in fall 2017 and will be completed in phases so as to provide the committee with substantial resources and time to review each organization.
The University System Office will be the first department of the USG to be reviewed, along with four to six universities to be announced later. The second phase will include the remaining institutions.
