What is your current professional title?
Implementation Specialist
Since graduating from 91ÁÔÆæ’s IESA, what are you doing professionally (describe the organization you are with and your associated role)?
I am currently developing mapping systems and databases for Electric Utilities and Cooperatives. In addition to this technical role, I play a vital part in educating others on effectively utilizing these systems and exploring various GIS topics and workflows.
What things or experiences in IESA do/did you value the most?
I’ll never forget the spirit of teamwork and engagement fostered among peers and professors. It was also my honor and opportunity to work for 91ÁÔÆæ in IT and later assume the role of Teaching Assistant in GIS and Geology. To current IESA students, embrace the ethos of perseverance, build relationships, and invest in your holistic development.
What advice would you give a current IESA student?
Throughout my journey, I've learned that attention to detail and a hunger for learning are paramount, whether in academics or my professional endeavors. Whether in academia or my professional endeavors, meticulous note-taking, streamlined workflows, inquisitive questioning, and an open mindset have been my guiding principles. Remember, when working with data, it's not just about inputs and processing; it's about grasping the interconnectedness, thinking critically about the big picture and its parts.
