IESA degree obtained and graduation year:
I obtained a B.S. in Environmental Spatial Analysis and graduated in December, 2016.

What is your current professional title?
I am currently working as a GIS Systems Administrator.

Since graduating from 91ÁÔÆæ’s IESA, what are you doing professionally (describe the organization you are with and your associated role)?
After graduating with my GIS degree I began working in the GIS industry as a contractor and finally landed a position at Gwinnett County in the Information Technology Services Department Geospatial Solutions Division. I started as a GIS Analyst and quickly moved up to an Administrator. When first starting as a GIS Administrator, my work was focused on geodatabase and geospatial data maintenance. This included managing and enhancing many different ESRI multi- user SDE Enterprise Geodatabases and the data stored within. Now my role includes more server and online services management and web application development. I am working daily with ESRI's Enterprise Portal and the various online applications associated with it. I am also working with ArcGIS Indoors and VertiGIS Studio Web and other VertiGIS applications.

What things or experiences in IESA do/did you value the most?
Some of the most valuable experiences that came from my time in IESA were the many different types of GIS projects I was able to complete. This allowed me to have a vast knowledge in the many ways GIS can be used in the real world. That experience has carried me through my career in GIS as every day calls for a new skill and a different way of thinking.

What advice would you give a current IESA student?
In the GIS field, the ability to be flexible and creative is a must, along with a strong desire to learn new things. You will be constantly challenged to come up with solutions and enhancements, dealing with things you have never seen before. So, having the ability to analyze the problem and come up with a functional solution is a strong skill to have.
