History (B.A.)

If you are curious about other times, places, and peoples, or frequently find yourself asking questions about topics like politics, war, or culture and tend not to be satisfied with simple answers, a history major could be a good fit for you.

The Bachelor of Arts with a major in history is a broad discipline, so students can tailor their degree path to fit with their interests. A history major trains you to think comparatively and critically about human diversity and enduring human problems, and understand complexity, causation, and connection in human affairs.

This program will prepare you with developed twenty-first century job skills, including research methods, information literacy, critical thinking, effective written, oral and/or digital communication, teamwork, project management, and global perspectives.

  • Learn the power of persuasion by gaining essential training and experience in organizing and writing a formal paper that is logical, clear in its presentation, and cogently sets out your conclusion and its evidentiary foundation.
