Germany
Erlangen, Germany: Dating back to 1002 AD, Erlangen is a “college town” in the southern state of Bavaria that is steeped in history and culture. Home to the Friedrich Alexander Universitat, Erlangen is a medium sized city that is small enough to get to know well in one month, and large enough to have plenty to do. All German citizens learn English starting in 1st grade, so no German language skills are necessary for participation. Students will have the opportunity to travel to Berlin, Austria, and Munich.
This program will provide education students with 4 weeks of their internship requirement while giving them an opportunity to teach in German schools (instruction in English) and live with a host family to experience the German culture. No German language skills are necessary to participate in the program. It is part of an FAU-91 teacher intern exchange.
