How did you hear about your internship?

I actually heard about the Executive Office Of The President Of The United States internship program from one of my professors who posted about the internship on our class’s D2L homepage. He reminded us about the opportunity almost every class session, the final week of the application period. He really encouraged us to give it our best shot and not to shy away from applying.

What has been the most valuable (or favorite) part of the experience?

The most valuable part of interning at The White House is all the connections I made while in DC. I lived in intern housing with other DC interns, came to my internship everyday meeting new people, volunteered for events at the White House, and got the opportunity to sightsee around the DMV. I loved having the opportunity to meet different people from a wide range of backgrounds such as fellow interns, students, diplomats, government officials, project managers, and so much more! Taking the leap of faith and moving to DC for this internship has cultivated a fresh sense of appreciation for the remarkable diversity present in this country.

How will this help you in the future?

Interning for the Executive Office of The President has instilled a deeper desire to explore different perspectives and cultures. Looking ahead, I'm excited to apply the skills and lessons I've learned during my time at The White House to my future public service endeavors. This experience will aid in my future public service, allowing me to tackle problems with empathy, inclusivity, and a dedication to representing and serving all communities.
