Accounting Major - Trinity Accounting Group

How did you hear about your internship?

I first learned about Trinity Accounting Group when I attended the accounting career fair last fall at the Gainesville campus. I then attended Trinity’s invite meet and greet at a restaurant in Athens prior to being hired. I knew almost immediately after speaking with everyone that evening that Trinity was a place I could see myself interning at.

What has been the most valuable (or favorite) part of the experience?

The most valuable part of my internship has been the hands-on experience. This was exactly what I was looking for going into an internship. I started as an Admin/Co-op intern in the spring and have moved on as an Accounting intern for the summer. This has given me a more in-depth experience of accounting work. I think it was important and even helpful for me to start where I did, because I have learned the process of how things work for this firm and simply accounting in general.

How will this help you in the future?

This experience has helped me immensely in preparing for my future. I have built relationships with my co-workers and fellow interns and really established a great sense of teamwork in return. I know this will carry over to where I will work in the future. Lastly, working with accounting software, and preparing returns on my own has been challenging at times, but I have worked through it all and learned so much. I am thankful for the opportunity I was given to intern here, and it has turned out to be such a positive learning experience and growth in accounting.
