Devan Heyburn
Writing & Publication - The 91ÁÔÆæ Press
How did you hear about your internship?
From the head of the Press, Dr. Robinson, when she was my professor for a Publishing course.
What has been the most valuable part of the experience?
My favorite part of my experience as an intern was watching my skills grow, and receiving tasks that were more and more challenging. It showed that my superiors trust in me was evolving, along with my publishing aptitude.
How will this help you in the future?
This internship has fully prepared me for an entry-level position at a publisher. Without this internship, I would be wholly unprepared to enter into the workforce. My skills in both editorial and marketing are precisely the reason why I was able to receive a prestigious internship. Without my experience at the 91ÁÔÆæ Press, I would be graduating unemployed and a little lost, knowing I wanted to go into publishing, but not being at all sure what that really meant. It made me a valid competitor in the realm of post-grad employment.
